News & Views from Campus: October 1^st – October 7^th

-Cottage Community Center (30D): Triple Yahtzee (weekly) on Tuesday at 6pm! Canasta on Wednesday at 1pm, Coffee Hour on Thursday at 10am and Dominoes Saturday at 1pm!

-Screen The Grapes of Wrath starring Henry Fondaon Friday at 1pm. The award winning novel by John Steinbeck, considered one of the finest pieces of American literature ever written, tells the story of the sharecropper Joad family, forced from their farm and their home during the dust bowl. They setout to California, a land teaming with opportunity, or so they think. Upon arriving after an arduous journey, they find migrant camps fraught with crooked owners, thieves, and poor conditions for workers. Son Tom (Fonda) kills a camp guard while defending himself, and decides to take up workers rights as his calling in life.

A Prayer of Submission

Lord, this sinful worthless sinner longs to shining face. You have loved him without limit. You have saved him by your grace. Lord I long to have communion with your blessed holy Son. But the bonds are often broken by the things that I have done. Father teach me to obey you in my life from day to day. Lord you are the master potter. Wont you mold this lump of clay? Can it be that you could use me, even sinful as I am? Father break me, melt me and mold me, keep me in your powerful hand.
