PASS THE GRAVY!

Don’t forget the lunch meal served on Thursday will be the traditional Thanksgiving fare with all the trimmings!

The BEST Thanksgiving Themed Movies!

When it comes to holiday movies, we all know Christmas gets the lion’s share of the pie. But there are some gems out there for Thanksgiving, including some great comedies, kitchen fails, and big-screen blunders. Here are my favorites:

Planes, Trains, & Automobiles: Wanting only to get home to Chicago for Thanksgiving, comedic genius Steve Martin runs into nothing but trouble in the form of John Candy’s hilarious character, and everything that could go wrong does! I give it 5 out of 5 Turkey Legs. The perfect turkey day watch!

Grumpy Old Men: Superstars of their era Jack Lemmon & Walter Matthau duel it out with hilarious pranks on one another, vying for the affection of a lucky lady! 4 out of 5 scoops of green bean casserole.

Scent of a Woman: Set against the backdrop of New York City during the holidays, this Oscar-winning film stars Al Pacino as a blind, wily Army veteran & Chris O’Donnell as his caretaker. 4 out of 5 pumpkin pies!

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving: This one will tug on your heartstrings the way only a true classic can as Charlie Brown learns the meaning of Thanksgiving alongside all of The Peanuts gang! 3.5 helpings of mashed potatoes out of 5.

Miracle on 34th Street: So everyone thinks of this as a Christmas favorite, but the story actually opens at the Macy’s thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, where a department store Santa claims to be the real deal. 3.5 out of 5 dinner rolls.                                                             -Nathan Halfpap

He Said It: Thanksgiving is an emotional holiday. People travel thousands of miles to be with people they only see once a year. And then discover once a year is way too often!    – Johnny Carson
