St. Patrick’s Day, or The Feast of St. Patrick, is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17th, the anniversary of the death of St. Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland.

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated in more countries than any other national festival, even in places like Argentina, Australia, South Africa, Malta, Norway, Switzerland, and New Zealand, in addition to all of the United Kingdom and Ireland, the United States, and Canada.

The Shamrock, with its 3 leaves, was originally used to explain The Holy Trinity to many Irish who were of the pagan religion. The traditional wearing of the color green dates back to 1640 when the green harp flag was used by the Irish Catholic Confederation.
