New Grief Share Ministry

-Good Sam is excited to launch a new ministry in partnership with Trinity United Church of Christ. GriefShare is a support group for anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one. GriefShare is a network of more than 12,000 churches worldwide empowering congregations to offer grief support groups.The program is for anyone struggling with grief and offers Biblical concepts for healing from grief from a Christian perspective. 

-Due to Covid 19 required protocols, there will be two separate groups: one for in-house Good Sam residents; and one for cottagers. There is no charge for either group. GriefShare will meet weekly on Wednesdays this Summer for thirteen weeks beginning June 15^th. Each session will include a video seminar, small group discussion and support, and journaling and reflection utilizing a workbook provided free of charge.

-For Good Sam Cottagers, both Main Campus & Cherry Lane: Wednesdays 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM June 15-September 14, 2022 Location: Trinity Church: South 24th and Cherry Lane. Please register with Peggy Poteet, Cottager: (217) 209-3362 ***This group is also open to family & friends of cottagers, Trinity Church Members, and members of the community.

For Mother’s Day this year, we offered a pottery project for residents and their families. The pieces have been fired and we are excited to announce that they are finished! The Pottery will be displayed outside the Main Dining Room until Friday, June 10^th. At that time, the pieces will be given to the owners. Please feel free to stop by and take a look!
