News & Views from Campus: July 30^th – August 5^th

-Cottage Community Center: Located at 30D, Canasta on Wednesday at 1pm, Coffee on Thursday at 10am, and Dominoes Saturday at 1pm!

-Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story airs Friday at 1:30pm. Hers is a truly unique story, as she was married to an Austrian ammunition manufacturer, and secretly left him and fled to Paris & London, where she met Louis Mayer who offered her a film contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. As she became a film star, she also worked with composer George Antheil to develop a guidance system for Allied forces in WWII to guide torpedoes without the threat of being jammed. Fascinating!!

-Don’t miss the Watermelon Bust on Thursday at 1:30pm in the Social Room! This is always a treat, and we will have PLENTY of watermelon for all to enjoy!

-Good Samaritan Home will hold an Open House in the Social Room on Thursday from 5-7pm. We will reveal the new cottage designs for both the Main & Cherry Lane Campuses. The event is open to the public and light hor d’oeuvre’s will be served as well.                                                                                                 -Nathan
