News & Views from Campus: January 28^th – February 3^rd

-Cottage Community Center (30D): Tuesday, 430pm: Triple Yahtzee. Wednesday, 1pm: Ponytail Canasta. Thursday, 10am: Coffee Hour, Friday, 1:30pm: Scrabble. Saturday, 1pm: Dominoes.

-Lost & Found Day: Social Services will be holding its Lost and Found Day on Tuesday, February 6^th, in the Town Hall from 9am-12:30pm. If you have any missing items that were never found, please come see if we have them! Beginning at Noon, any remaining items will be available for the taking!  

-Groundhog Day: Tune in Friday afternoon at 1:30 for Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray! Did you know this holiday was brought to America by the Germans, whom originally believed the weather was predicted by a badger? They substituted a ground hog once they found them plentiful in the new world. The problem is, he’s not very accurate. Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog has only been correct 39% of the time since 1887, and out of 127 predictions, he’s seen his shadow (6 more weeks of winter) a whooping 107 times! Also, February 2^nd is not just a random day. The day is used because it is exactly halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox, so it is smack-dab in the middle of two seasons, a perfect time to (hopefully) predict an early spring!                                                                          -Nathan
