News & Views from Campus: January 26^th – February 1^st

-Cottage Community Center (30D): Tuesday, 6:00pm: Game Night! Wednesday, 1pm: Ponytail Canasta. Thursday, 10am: Coffee Hour. Friday, 1:30pm: Scrabble, 6:00pm: Friday Night Fun & Games. Saturday, 1pm: Dominoes Train.

-THIS THURSDAY, our Senior Seminar Series: Residents & Cottagers, join us at 2pm in the Social Room, as Don O’Brien from the Better Business Bureau will speak and answer questions about scams going on in the community that target seniors, and what you can do to identify, avoid, and protect yourself from them!

-COTTAGERS: First off, thank you for the many calls we have received, praising the maintenance staff for a job well done with our heavy snowfall this month! They really are the best! Also, as a reminder, we have received calls about rides to doctors’ visits. Good Samaritan does not provide this transportation for cottagers. But you can contact Senior Transport at 217-224-3535 and set up an account with them. Keep in mind they do require 24-hour notice.

–Respiratory Illnesses (RSV, Covid, Influenza) are on the rise in our community. Cottagers and all visitors are encouraged to follow these guidelines: Receive vaccines, wash your hands, practice cough etiquette, and stay home if you’re sick. Please postpone your visit

until you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours and you are feeling better.                                                                     -Nathan
