2022 Winter Olympics Preview

The Winter Olympics will run this year from February 4^th to February 20^th! Beijing, China is the host this year, and the theme is “Together For A Shared Future”. Personally, I love the Winter Olympics, because I grew up playing hockey, and Ice Hockey is one of, if not the featured sport at the winter events. But there are lots of interesting fringe sports that are fun to watch! Curling is a great example. In this sport, “bowlers” slide different weighted stones down bowling lanes made of ice, with the object being to land it as close to the center bullseye as possible. Think of it as shuffleboard on a frozen lake. How about the Biathlon event? This combines cross-country skiing through designated courses, with intermittent stops to shoot rifles at targets! Of course, there are plenty of HUGE jumps in Ski Jumping and Alpine Skiing, and of course Figure Skating, the other “crown jewel” of the Winter Olympics. Round it out with speed skating, and the ever-popular bobsled event, and you’ve got a pretty “cool” spectacle to witness (pun intended). You can catch all the action on NBC and their affiliate channels like USA and CNBC. Enjoy, and Go Team USA!
