Wal Mart Shopping Time! Wal Mart shopping returns on Wednesday, January 18^th at 8:30am. Remember, you must call Sally Hodgson at extension 4227 if you plan on attending. After you have booked your spot with Sally, you will meet that Wednesday morning at the front entrance. Open to residents & cottagers so call today!

Chili Soup Dinner! Good Samaritan Home will be holding a Soup Dinner on Tuesday, February 28 from 4p-7p in the Social Room.  Cost:  $6.00 – Adults, $4.00 –  Children under 10.   Price includes soup, grilled cheese sandwich, dessert and drink.  All proceeds will benefit Good Samaritan Home’s Employee Assistance Fund.  This program is designed to assist employees who are facing extended time off of work due to an accident or medical condition and those who are dealing with a catastrophic event such as a house fire or death in the family.  Monies for this program have been solely funded through donations, employee payroll deductions, and fundraisers. 

If you would like to make a monetary donation to help purchase supplies for this event or would be willing to donate dessert items (cake, cookies, pies), please contact Missy Loos, HR Director at 217-223-8717 ext. 4296 by February 23.

Muddy River Gems: Did you enjoy the Muddy River Gems (formerly Illinois Stories) episode on our very own Toby Elsenpeter? Then you’re in luck, because this coming week on Monday the 16^th at 2pm, we will be airing another fantastic episode. This one will cover the historic Perry Carousel, an antique amusement ride that has called Perry, Missouri home since its debut during their 4^th of July celebration in 1942! The show explains the carousels travels, and now it’s permanent home in a brand-new facility in Perry Missouri.
