Take Care of Your Mental Health with Brain Fitness!
Take care of that brain! Research shows that it is important to exercise your brain to keep your brain active and fit.
In recent years, more and more mobile apps have become available for brain fitness, brain training, dementia prevention, etc. Some popular ones are: Lumosity App, Headspace: Meditation & Sleep, Elevate – Brain Training, and Happify. Check out the App Store or Google Play Store for more apps and games to boost your brain power.
The foods you eat impact your overall physical and mental health. Eating a healthy diet is a very important part of having not only a healthy body, but also a healthy brain. Foods to consider for brain health are walnuts, dark chocolate, salmon, blueberries, eggs, and avocado.
Learning is equally important; you could learn a new style of cooking, try yoga, attend a lecture or class, or learn a new instrument. The Senior Learning Network Generations program is available to our internal residents and brings worldly facts and information right to our home. So far, we have been to the FDR Presidential Library, Glacier Bay Alaska, the Hearst Mansion, the Smithsonian, and more!
Staying physically active is important for your body and mind. Exercise has been proven to help improve sharper memory and thinking. There are several opportunities for in-house residents for fitness. Follow the Patter & check your local signs for more information. Get moving and exercise your brain today!

Weekly Inspiration
“For what it’s worth… it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald
Scripture & Prayer Request
Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
