News & Views from Campus: February 11^th – February 17^th

-Cottage Community Center (30D): Tuesday, 430pm: Triple Yahtzee. Wednesday, 1pm: Ponytail Canasta. Thursday, 10am: Coffee Hour, Friday, 1:30pm: Scrabble. Saturday, 1pm: Dominoes.

-Also, Love is in the Air! We are still doing the wedding photos of you and your sweetheart, or even your parents wedding, to hang on the bulletin board in Cottage 30D. We also have a table setup for larger, framed photos, so go ahead and bring them over!  

-New for Cottagers: Ladies Bible Study, beginning February 12^th at 5pm in cottage 30D. We will decide topics and parameters of the group at this meeting. Contact Cottager Vickie Larson at 27-440-2205for more info. We will most likely meet Mondays, every other week, going forward.

-Valentines Day Fast Facts: American’s spent nearly $26 Billion on Valentines Day in 2023, an average of $193 each!

Although cards, flowers, and gift cards are popular, candy is the most commonly given gift on Valentines Day. Nothing wrong with that! 

Arizona, Nebraska, Texas, and Virginia all have cities named Valentine within their borders, although Virginia adds an “s” to theirs. Valentine Nebraska has a population of 2,700, while Texas’ is 134, and Arizona’s is 39! Virginia’s is unincorporated, with only a combined general store/ post office!                               -Nathan

Prayer Of The Week

Psalm 16: 1-8 Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge. I say to The Lord,    “You are my LORD; I have no good apart from You”…The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply…The LORD is my Chosen Portion and my Cup…I have set The LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

My Punny Puns of the Week, Brought to you by Donnie!                -I stayed up alllll night to see exactly where the sun went. And then it dawned on me!      -What kind of dogs do magicians own? A Labracadabrador!     -Singing in the shower is great, until you get shampoo in your mouth. Then it just becomes a soap opera…    -Puns about communism aren’t funny, unless EVERYONE gets them…          -I’m glad I learned sign language. It’s pretty handy!
