This and That…
-Thursday don’t miss the Possum Holler Opry Special in the Social Room, featuring our very own Richard Elsenpeter! The hugely successful, locally produced jamboree-type show ran on WGEM for 10 years (1960-1970). It was originally slated as a 3 episode show, but proved wildly popular with audiences and had better ratings than The Super Bowl, World Series, & Bonanza at one time! The show was good clean family fun, hosted by Good Samaritan resident Richard Elsenpeter, who went by Toby Dick Ellis as a stage name. It offered comedic sketches, and tons of local and national musical talent throughout its run. The show was shot live every week, and carried exclusively by WGEM, at a time when the station was not even 10 years old yet. You won’t want to miss this extraordinary local event!

Happy Birthday
