WEEKLY TESTING IDENTIFIES POSITIVE EMPLOYEE IN AUGUST 12 – 14 TESTING
Good Samaritan Home has continued to test our employees for COVID-19 on a weekly basis. As a result of last week’s testing, we have identified one employee who has tested positive for COVID-19. This employee was asymptomatic and is now quarantined at home. GSH will continue to conduct weekly employee testing.
At this time, it does not appear that residents of Good Samaritan Home, other than those in the same neighborhood as the positive employee, will need to be tested. Families of residents needing to be tested have been notified. Those same residents have been quarantined to their individual rooms. They will be receiving their meals delivered to their rooms, and activities will be held in the resident rooms and doorways.
We stand by our commitment to the health and safety of our residents and staff. We continue precautions which include:
• Continued screening all staff members and other essential persons entering our facility for symptoms related to COVID-19.
• Continued screening of all residents several times a day with vital signs and temperature checks.
• Beauty shop closure.
• Continued disinfecting of resident rooms, common areas, and high-traffic areas multiple times daily.
• All staff will continue to wear masks and practice good hand hygiene.
We continue to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Adams County Health Department.
We will communicate new information with families, residents, and staff as it becomes available to us. For any questions or concerns, please contact your designated social service aide.
