ONE POSITIVE EMPLOYEE RESULT FROM AUGUST 19 – 21 TESTING
As a result of last week’s testing, one Good Samaritan Home employee has been identified as a confirmed positive for COVID-19. All of the resident tests from last week were returned negative, as well as employee tests excluding the one just mentioned and a few others pending results. This brings the total number of cases, since the first confirmed case in June, to four employees and one resident. Only the one employee that was confirmed positive last week is active, and this specific employee has been quarantined at home.
Only those residents in the neighborhood of last week’s confirmed positive employee will be tested this week. Families of those residents have been notified. Weekly employee testing continues to resume.
We stand by our commitment to protecting the health and safety of our residents and staff. We are continuing precautions which include:
• Continued screening all staff members and other essential persons entering our facility for symptoms related to COVID-19.
• Continued screening of all residents several times a day with vital signs and temperature checks.
• Continued quarantine of residents to their specific neighborhoods.
• Beauty shop closure.
• Continued disinfecting of resident rooms, common areas, and high-traffic areas multiple times daily.
• All staff will continue to wear masks and practice good hand hygiene.
Window visits are still allowed at this time. However, the window must remain closed at all times and under no circumstances should the window be opened.
More details are to come as we receive further guidance from the Adams County Health Department. The health and safety of our residents remains our top priority as we continue to follow proper COVID-19 guidelines and procedures regarding both residents and staff.
For any questions or concerns, please contact your loved one’s designated social service aide.
