FACILITY-WIDE TESTING

As a follow up to the recent notification of a GSH employee testing positive for COVID-19, we would like to assure everyone that the health and safety of our staff and residents are our highest priority. We will continue to screen all staff members and other essential persons entering our facility for symptoms related to COVID-19. We will also continue to screen our residents several times a day with vital signs and temperature checks.

Within an hour of Tuesday evening’s notification, several staff members worked into the late hours to facilitate a deep cleaning of the entire facility including resident rooms and common areas. Disinfecting all of these areas will continue multiple times on a daily basis. All staff members will continue to wear masks and practice good hand hygiene. We are continuing to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Adams County Health Department (ACHD).

As an extra precaution, we will be performing a facility-wide testing this week of all of our staff and residents to determine if there has been transmission within the facility. We are coordinating our efforts with the ACHD throughout this process. We will be communicating new information with families, residents, and staff as it becomes available to us.
